I haven’t revisited this topic in quite some time… but last I recall a proper dual stick setup would require the in-game controls be set to use 2 controllers. You can switch their placement, but you can’t alter how it reads your input. It’s kind of complex because in the standard layout side-stepping and look up/down are digital controls, while forward/back and turning are analog controls.
